Waffles are great, but I’m not always in the mood for something sweet. I’ve been playing with making savory waffles. I had a pile of flat asian noodles; I like making them in bulk. They ended up in the waffle iron. Tasty crispiness was the result!
Take one oiled waffle iron and add a handful of cooked noodles. I kept mine on the highest setting to make sure they got crispy.
Let them cook for a cycle and check. Mine needed almost two cycles to get really crispy. For an added flavor explosion, mix in some red sauce with the noodles!
I ate mine with red sauce, fresh basil, and some black and kalamata olives.
Make something amazing with your waffle iron! If you don’t have a waffle iron, get one here for $25.
I am intrigued. I've heard of people putting hash browns in waffle irons and even cornbread mix for a savory waffle, but hadn't thought of noodles.
ReplyDeletecornbread mix sounds good. I might have to try that soon. The noodles is great. I want to do it again very soon.
