Last night I had the pleasure of participating in the Herbivorous Butcher kickstarter launch party. They have been selling out their meat-free meats all summer at the Minneapolis farmer’s market. Their kickstarter is to open a store of their own and become the first vegan butcher shop in the country right here in Minneapolis!
The food was fantastic. My friends have been raving about HB for the last couple months, and now I understand why. I enjoyed almost everything I tasted. Pictured above is caramels with bacon, bologna tea sandwiches, and mini bbq rib kabobs (I think).
The party was held at Sisyphus Brewing. I enjoyed a blonde ale which went great with my food. All the food was free and vegan. A large crowd formed in the first hour and most of the sample trays were finished within minutes of being placed on the tables.
The caramels from comfort candy were awesome. Caramel on the inside surrounded by chocolate and topped with HB bacon. I had several. So good.
HB plans to ship their products around the country after they open their shop. Their campaign runs until November 30th, 2014; in the first day they had over $10,000 pledged. Join me in supporting their kickstarter, so more people can enjoy meat-free meat. I picked the founder’s t-shirt. What will you pick for your perk?
