zpizza–Vegan Pizza Delivery

zpizza

A couple days ago I stumbled upon the website for zpizza since I had heard they had vegan pizza options. I was quite happy to see they had several great choices for ingredients with a large veggie selection, daiya cheese, and some gardien crumbles. I casually put my address into their delivery box, and was even more excited to see our house was in the delivery range! Awesome! We’ve never had vegan pizza delivered to our house in the eight years we’ve lived in.

zpizza is a chain based out of California. I’ve seen them before there when traveling, but never thought to look for one in MN. After looking through the list of pizzas and comparing it to the build-your-own, we decided to make our own pizza. We ordered around 6:30 and had the pizza by 7:30 which worked out great.

We ordered an extra large (18”) with regular crust (vegan) with marinara sauce and vegan daiya cheese. For toppings we added veggie gardein sausage crumbles, fresh basil (free!), roasted red peppers, shiitake mushrooms, and black olives.

After tax an tip it came to about $28 which isn’t bad for a custom vegan pizza. It’s inline with other options in Minneapolis like Pizza Luce.

The pizza itself was good, and it came still warm. It was a thinner crust and it wasn’t smothered in toppings. We both liked it. I thought the crust was a bit tough near the edges, but my wife liked it as is. We liked our pizza a lot, and loved the fact that it was delivered. It has been such a long time since we’ve had pizza vegan pizza delivered to our house.

We will be ordering again!

What are the ingredients in the vegan cheese?

Filtered water, tapioca and/or arrowroot flours, non-GMO expeller pressed canola and/or non-GMO expeller pressed safflower oil, coconut oil, pea protein, salt, vegan natural flavors, inactive yeast, vegetable glycerin, xanthan gum, citric acid (for flavor), titanium dioxide (a naturally occurring mineral).

What are the ingredients in the veggie crumbles (meat replacement)?

Water, soy protein concentrate, wheat gluten, canola oil, malt extract, wheat starch, natural flavor (maltodextrin), yeast extract, salt, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, spices.

Why did zpizza make the switch from soy cheese to vegan cheese?

Sid’s goal had always been to offer a vegan cheese, but for a long time, there was not a product available to us that could withstand the high cooking temperature of our ovens. The soy cheese we carried had casein (an animal protein) so our vegan guests and those with dairy allergies still weren’t able to consume it. When we found Daiya, the vegan cheese in stores now, we knew we had a great product that all of our guests could enjoy. If you prefer to order soy cheese, it is available at some locations so please check with the store manager.

  1. I live out of delivery range, but I'm a fan of zpizza too. They don't just do vegan, they do gluten free! My favorite topping combo is roasted red peppers, carmelized onions, eggplant and daiya.

The only way to get vegan pizza in Corvallis is to order it without cheese.
