Chocolate Ganache Torte

Chocolate Ganache Torte

I found this recipe on foodgawker. It is seriously some of the best chocolate I have ever had. I was skeptical when I read the description, but I went and bought the ingredients anyways.

I used un-dutched cocoa powder since I had read it retained more of the original cocoa flavor and double the antioxidants. The dutching process treats the cocoa with an alkalizing agent to enhance color and smooth flavor. Un-dutched cocoa powder on it’s own has a slightly bitter flavor with some acidity. The acidity could come in handy when baking with baking soda. I will have to experiment later.

I mixed up the crust and couldn’t help but taste the mixture. Wow! The combination of almond, coconut, and cocoa is fabulous. The chocolate flavor dominates with a hint of coconut in the background. It’s soft and delicious and melts quickly in your mouth or hand.

I’ve made this several times in the last couple weeks. Other chocolates pale in comparison to the robust dark chocolate flavor of this ganache. I’m finding it hard to buy chocolate bars now since this is so easy and delicious. Check out the recipe over on Wannabe Chef, and then go straight to the store to get the ingredients!

  3. Regan: You won't be disappointed! thank you. I took many photos to get the one above, but it still feels like it's missing something. I guess I'll have to make some more to take pictures of ;)

Lauren: They ARE amazing. Everyone who's had one was impressed. I'd recommend cutting them into bit sized pieces when sharing. My wife loves hers with coffee.
